the first of the fro-yo establishments -- yep, you can blame PB for all the other places popping up...but it's still the one with that original tartness and good cut pieces of fruit and other sweet goodies.
forget going to a bar to meet a cute date -- just start chatting with one of the lovelies on line here!! It works for ME!

Artichoke Basille's Pizza & Brewery

- The Sicilian
- The Neapolitan
The Spinach & Artichoke slice is very rich, delicious and filling. Be forewarned -- have this first and you'll be too full to finish a sicilian or a neapolitan.
Although the hours can be erratic -- they do make heavenly pizza! The hype is well worth it....the lines are well deserved....and most importantly -- after years of enduring sub-par pizza in Manhattan, the title for best slice comes back to Manhattan!
Thanks Artichoke!

Wait a minute? Am I in Pinkberry?
Red Mango actually had the concept first in Korea before Pinkberry 'borrowed' the store concept and opened in LA.
But head to head, which one is better? Pinkberry gets points for clean, uniform, metro-sexual friendly stores and nicer looking fresh cuts of fruit, but Red Mango wins on FroYo taste!
Love this location for the back garden -- it's where I take all my lady-friends!

Tiffin Wallah
Categories: Vegetarian, Indian/Pakistani
Anyway, back to the food. Luckily, Tiffin Wallah doesn't disappoint -- serving food that adheres to Aruveydic principles, I found the flavors of sweet, tart, hot and salt present in many of the assorted dishes we ordered. Definitely get the cashew appetizer and the Palaak Paneer!
Will go back when it is hopefully less rowdy!
Taking people's advice, I only ordered the square slice of Sicilian -- mama mia, thats a pretty good pizza! As other Yelpers noted, the chunky sauce and ample layers off mozzerella are well complimented by the thick, crunchy crust. I give it 3.5 stars.
But was it worth the trip to Bensonhurst? Definitely...with all the accents and old school Brooklyn-type guys I felt like I was watching members of the Lupertazzi family of the Sopranos. That alone merits another 0.5 star to bump my review up to 4 stars!

Cafecito

Neighborhood: Manhattan/East Village
We started with a pitcher of sangria -- it had the perfect amount of fresh cut apples, oranges and pears to accompany the mellow, not too sweet red sangria.
For food, we started with chicken empandas -- perfectly cooked, shredded chicken breast was inside the tasty empanada!
The conversation with my date was enthralling and flirty. By the last glass of sangria, she reached over and kissed me!
-moments of obvious PDA later-
Our entrees arrived, she had the Churrasco steak, while I opted for the Chicken breast with rice & beans and plaintains. Very authentic, very delicious! I fed her with my fork and she made the most sexy expressions!
After we finished our meal, and a second pitcher of sangria, we had the tres leches for dessert. The sponge cake wasn't as moist as other tres leches I've had at other latin restaurants -- but my date didn't seem to mind -- again she made those faces when I fed her with my spoon.
--more kissing and hand flirting--
Then she whispers in my ear that she wants to continue the mambo experience elsewhere......**CHECK PLEASE**
Gracias Cafecito for providing the right ambience and venue for a very **lucky** night!

After 15+ years:
-the bento boxes are still a bargain...
-the sushi - ah ok, but still better than places in close proximity
-the udons and soups - while not "gourmet" like a certain momo place across the street, they are dependable.
You will enjoy a no-frills satisfying meal here without breaking the bank -- for sure!
